The mission of the Baromedical Research Foundation is the scientific advancement of hyperbaric medicine.

This website’s intended audience consists of those healthcare professionals who practice hyperbaric medicine and those with an interest in its scientific advancement. It is further hoped that the Foundation may attract institutional participation in our clinical trials consortia.
All medical information on this website has been compiled and / or generated by the website editor, Mr. Dick Clarke, CHT (Certified Hyperbaric Technician).
Dick formed the Baromedical Research Foundation in 1988 with the goal of enhancing the credibility of the hyperbaric medicine discipline through better scientific validation of its purported benefits. He has served as the Foundation’s director since its beginnings.
Dick has a 40 year career in undersea and hyperbaric medicine. He has served as a diver, research subject, administrator, educator and clinical scientist. His research has been published over the past 30 years and his contributions to the field have been recognized on four separate occasions with the highest awards bestowed by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society, the discipline’s leading international scientific body.
His clinical research culminated in the publication of the first ever randomized
and controlled clinical trial with cross over and long term follow-up involving
a hyperbaric treatment indication in the 100 years of its application.
